"Michael is a superb coach asking challenging questions that allowed me to go beyond my perceived boundaries. Taco Rensink, Head of PDG, Nordic & Baltics
"The balanced combination of classroom training with the coaching in applying learned skills is very powerful. The flexibility and dedication of the coaches, in my case Lyle, is truly unbelieveable. I have enough material to work with and on for the next time to come. For me it was a true eye opening experience and Lyle made me realise to think about effects of my own behaviour in different situations in a very positive way."
Chris Smit, Sales Manager, Amsterdam
"I attended the Reuters Advanced Management Programme in September 2007. The two models that I found the most useful are the Strategic Execution Model and LVR. I regularly use the Strategic Execution Model to help me and my team think through the essential elements needed to successfully plan and implement our team projects. I used to be a ‘one man show’ but now, using this model, I get the team involved right from the start – this dramatically improves buy-in for and ownership of the plan. By getting the team involved in this way, I have more energy to look after the team [rather than being bogged down in the day to day operation of the team]; the team is more focussed on change and the required deliverables. My 4 teams across various countries now talk to each other, have more confidence in each other and now regularly deliver on bold goals as a unified team. The LVR Model helped me gain a fresh insight into my own communication style and highlighted the need for me to listen and understand more and then respond in a way that adds value to the business relationships that are important to my success. This piece of self-awareness has helped me improve the quality of my one-on-one communication with my team members. This has resulted in open and frank discussions, better understanding of each other’s point of view and improved relationships. The biggest change I have experienced? Focussing more and spending more time with the team."
Louis Arnaud,
Since attending the RAMP Program, I have found the Performance Life Cycle and the Competency Framework [Colours] most useful As Head of the Russian News Service, my project was to expand our current service to be able to provide more open information that met our clients’ needs in a way that is accurate, speedy and of value. In order for the team to change it’s current focus a number of changes had to be implemented ito structure, personnel and the way we did things. By and large the team members accepted these changes except for one individual who, whilst having a high level of skill and experience, did not demonstrate the attitude needed to adapt to the changes. The above tools provided with me with a very practical way of ‘relooking’ at this person and gave me some ideas about how I could engage in a series of constructive conversations with him. Through careful thought and planning [using the models] I was able to understand very clearly the reason for his unacceptable attitude towards the changes and, also, perhaps more importantly, what his expectations were for the future. Perhaps, for the first time, he felt he was being understood [made feel important] ito why he felt the way he did and what his aspirations are for his future within the company. I am pleased to say that this new level of interaction has resulted in a clear plan for the way forward and a Team Leader who now displays a very different attitude to his role. One that is positive, proactive to the changes and willing to take the lead. Just what is needed for the challenges ahead.
Anastasia Onegina, Moscow
"Compared to other training I have experienced, the long-term view feels like a commitment to ME - and therefore I feel more valued, and am motivated to maintain and commit to using the tools"
Malcolm Buckley, London
"A very good 'toolbox' that is applicable to any management and leadership challenge to ensure a consistently high quality."
Phillip Zerhusen, Middle East & Africa, Head of Client Training
I have been to numerous courses during my career and I can honestly say that the RAMP program is the best I have ever attended. The reason I say this is because of the way in which the theory was presented and the very practical application of the theory to a live business project through the Project Journal and supporting coaching. Two models have been of particular value: Performance Life Cycle – during the time of integration it became evident that certain members of the team were rather very negative towards the changes. The PLC model helped me to understand why certain people were feeling the way they were. This fresh awareness that the PLC model provided, helped me to engage in more meaningful conversations and, in each case, I was able to facilitate a change in mindset towards the process of change. The Colours ‘Game’ helped me to appreciate, for the first time, the value of recognising the different working styles within my team and how best that diversity of style can benefit the team. We have created a common language within the team and we now see each other in a different light – each contributing to an enhanced team performance.
